but I don't see that effect. I did some test with Spain map, with the <br>

custom style, no road-name-config: 39.501.824 B<br>

custom style+road-name-config: 39.567.360 B<br>

default style, no road-name-config: 38.633.472 B<br>

default style+road-name-config: 38.682.624 B<br>

As you can see, index is even slightly larger with road-name-config. <br>

Maybe I missed something.<br>
