<div dir="ltr"><div>Gerd and Andrzej,</div><div><br></div><div>I have doubt if the main question here is the tag not be supported by the OSM database, but rather the way mkgmap interprets: internally in the java code or "externally" through rules/syntax in style script.</div><div>I also don't think the fact that it is not handled internally by the mkgmap's java code gives the tag a temporary status to be prefixed by "tmp". In my opinion, both rules handled internally in the java code or in the styles can be permanent and definitive.<br></div><div>Therefore, if the tags prefixed by "mkgmap:" are those handled internally in the java code, then I propose simply remove any prefix from this tag, leaving only "fast_road".<br></div><div><br></div><div>Regards,</div><div><br></div><div>Alexandre</div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">2017-08-18 3:52 GMT-03:00 Gerd Petermann <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:GPetermann_muenchen@hotmail.com" target="_blank">GPetermann_muenchen@hotmail.com</a>></span>:<br><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">Hi Andrzej,<br>
<br>
I agree that the mkgmap prefix was not the best choice here.<br>
There are a few more tags created in the default style which are not expected in the OSM database and which are not evaluated in the java code:<br>
cityxxx<br>
dest_hint<br>
exit_hint<br>
maybe more ?<br>
<br>
I thought about a prefix like tmp: for them but I also like style: .<br>

<br>
the name "mkgmap:fast_road" could be a bit misleading, but it follows<br>
kind of convention, that I have used in my styles for a long time. Now<br>
reading this thread, I think it could be better to use something like<br>
"style:fast_road" for local variables created in a style.<br>
