merge from branch solve-parallel (r641) - often finds better splits (fewer tiles) - may invest more time to find a good split, but typically runs faster because - better handling of input files with large empty areas (e.g USA, Russia) when no polygon is used - in some cases two solvers are executed in parallel threads.
