I did have a go at getting OSM maps visible within the Mapsource software that came with it a few months ago, but didn't succeed. I didn't try too hard as it was only ever a means to an end (getting the map on the GPS). So unfortunately (other than editing POIs) I don't really use it either. I suppose that one reason why some people may want to is to merge OSM maps on the device with previous Garmin ones that they've paid for? For what it's worth, the "load supplementary maps into Mapsource" instructions that I was trying to follow that didn't work for me were here: http://www.smc.org.uk/ContourMaps.htm A quick Google for "mapsource gmapsupp" also finds a few possibilities, including this: http://garmin.na1400.info/ http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?id=324&p=1 it might be worth talking to them - the page says "Done: Generate downloads for use in Garmin MapSource by providing an installer."
