FYI, the bug that led to the error message being output is reasonably subtle and to trigger it you needed to have a roundabout (or some other looped way) that contained a node that was 2 points from the end of the looped way and the node had to be close enough to the penultimate point in the way to cause a short arc if the way was split at the penultimate point (which it normally would be to break the loop).
