I tested with v1180. mgkmap don't seems to automerge points
on the same coord.

A----------way1------------XY--------------------way2----------------B

X (endpoint of way1) and Y (startpoint of way2) having the
same coordinate.

Mapsource is not able to route from A to B directly.
