I already have the files compiled to *.img. I don't want to have to start from *.osm because my contour layer never changes, so there's no point having to recompile it from scratch every time I update my OSM map data (i.e. weekly). I've not got any further here, so I'm settling with my Option 2 listed a few emails upthread, as this gives me 95% of what I wanted. Thanks all for your help, -- Charlie
