I didn't follow the discussion, when the overlay were introduced, but based on my own observations, the overlays provide the following: They give you an easy way, to create multiple Garmin-lines out of a single OSM-way. But they do not help in changing the drawing order of the lines in the map. I think, the drawing oder of the lines in a map can not be specified, but I might be wrong and also my understanding of the overlays feature might be wrong. If I want a line always drawn on top of another line, than I create a second (and transparent) map layer with a higher draw priority for the upper line. For the Garmin units both map layers can be combined into a single gmapsupp.img by mkgmap and they are displayed fine. In Mapsource I haven't found a solution for this problem, here I only know how to display one map layer at a time. Gruss Torsten
