Unfortunately, it seems that spiltter caused some problems: 2010/03/09 14:43:04 WARNING (Osm5XmlHandler): 63240004.osm.gz: Converting anti-island starting at http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=64.81934&mlon=21.05463&zoom=17 into an island as it is surrounded by water This is a section of the Swedish coast that I downloaded. The tile boundary is 64.819336,19.116211 to 70.092773,31.596680. Osmosis can merge my separately downloaded coastline to finland.osm.bz2 at a bearable speed (less than 10 minutes), but splitting with completeRelations=yes completeWays=yes took way too long for my taste. I interrupted it after 6ish hours. Best regards, Marko
