Its worth trying out the patches that I just posted for arabic. I
don't expect them to make much difference when all compiled with
--latin1 but you never know...

Also I forgot to add to the previous email that I have a ready
compiled jar at http://files.mkgmap.org.uk/download/30/mkgmap.jar
