[mkgmap-dev] Map installation problem from r1971 onward

Martin, Sorry, just to clarify, --location-autofill does produce a searchable map alright it's just that it is not very useful - streets can only be found by using search all cities option and when one looks up cities, all sorts of (nonsensical) things have been assigned cities. This seems to indicate that admin levels in Ireland are not useful for the autofilling improvements at the moment. So I don't seem to be able to take advantage of the new improvements. I did create preprocessed .bnd files using the --createboundsfile option on my 6*obm.pbf files, but then using --location-autofill (defaulting to the latterly created bounds directory) does not produce a searchable map on Basecamp or GPS. Perhaps this is explained by the admin boundary status at http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Admin_level#admin_level > > Thanks, > Cliff > > On 27 Jul 2011, at 12:29, Clifford Nolan wrote: > >> Hi Martin, >> >> I don't know whether this is correct or not but it worked … I downloaded and unzipped a file called europe from http://www.navmaps.eu/wanmil/ and added --bounds=europe to my mkgmap call to get rid of an error regarding bounds. I can now transfer a searchable map to my gps unit from my mac again :) >> >> Does that sound about right? >> >> Thanks, >> Cliff > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
