[mkgmap-dev] building img from tre+rgn+lbl files?

excuse if this is the wrong place to ask.. I have downloaded a free map of Hawaii from http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/454/ To first order, mkgmap is only about making garmin maps from OSM data. You might ask the wilderness.net people to make their data available in OSM format (or simply available; there are tools to convert shapefiles to osm format, although each shapefile type needs some tweaking of the code). Then you could use mkgmap to combine OSM data and the wilderness.net data into an img (which you then perhaps can't share unless their data is cc-by-sa-compatible), or you could make a transparent map. It may be that the windows exe is really zip and has an img in it. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
