I'll have to check that. I remember that the patch was not complete so 
it cannot be commited yet. It was just a first test case if the main 
idea of the solution was ok. In the end the patch won't fix all problems 
(this would require a larger rewrite of the subdivision section). But it 
should avoid some of the known problems.

I will try to finish the patch within the next days and then I can also 
say more to the "Subdivison width" error message.
