[mkgmap-dev] region contains too many nodes

I got the following attached error message (region contains too many nodes) and I don't know how to solve this problem.
I have tried it with mkgmap-r2066 and mkgmap-gmap-mdr-r2135.jar but I got the same error message and a zero byte img file.
Ttrying to split the file in smaller part with --max-nodes=1400000 1000000 800000 but the splitted file remains the same size. If I use --max-nodes=500000 I got two tiles but after mkgmap processing the two img tiles contain only place name nodes and nothing else.

This is the problematic area:
10010059: 2324480,217088 to 2361344,262144

The Geofabrik extract is europe.osm.pbf from today

Btw I'm using remove-short-arcs, merge-lines and keep-going in my args file, if that matters.
