[mkgmap-dev] Convert from gmapsupp to mapsource map or the other way around?

Not convert, but you can create the second one from the *.img files from the first call: mkgmap $OPTIONS --gmapsupp $TYPFILE mkgmap $OPTIONS --tdbfile [0-9]*.img $TYPFILE The second call will not regenerate all tiles, only built the tdb and index files for mapsource/qlandkarte.
