I will do a few more tests soon, and post the results here.
I currently have the impression that at least the roundabout - overlay
-  problem might still be there.

Then there is currently no way to avoid housenumbers completly ?

No Problem. I think it is not that urgent , now that we know how to
avoid the problem by changing the style a little bit.
