Hi Felix,
I think you should better use "I" instead of "you", because I think
you're the only one with such complex style-sheets.

You could have a single line in the beginning like:

foot=private { set mkgmap:foot=no }

Everytime you had changed this behaviour in your style, you add a {
set mkgmap:foot = yes }

Unfortunately this will only work, if mkgmap:<access>=* will written
while [..] is found. Don't know if this is the actual case in the
branch. But this would be also the logisticaliest way, because this is
the behavior for all other tags.
