To me it looks like the 62s does not use the global index for POIs,
but is looking in every single tile for all POIs, even the one which
are not in the index. You can see that very nice if you compare the
results with the same map on a 60CSx and a 62s.

To make the search on a 62s faster: Do a reset after every map update.
This does at least solved the problem for me in the past (but I
used a firmware version without activity routing, I haven't
looked at it with a current firmware version).
