[mkgmap-dev] Land flooded
From Gerd Petermann GPetermann_muenchen at hotmail.com on Mon May 9 08:59:55 BST 2016
Hi Gary, with empty I mean an area in the img file that is not covered by any polygon. By default this will not happen because mkgmap adds so-called background polygons (0x4b) for the whole area unless you don't use option --transparent. The --transparent option is useful when you create multiple layers (e.g. one for routing, another for buildings) so that you can switch on/off what you want to see. Hope that helps? The default value for the option tells mkgmap to generate land polygons with natural=land If I got that right, the default style doesn't create any map objects for them, only for the sea polygons. I guess the question is what your style+typ file use as default for areas that are "empty". Thanks for the reply, I have a solution for it, I said I don't use any options within the sea coomand, so it was just --precomp-sea="zip file name" I had no generate-sea command. once I added --generate-sea=land-tag=natural=background The sea behaved itself. I didn't realise the two had to be used together. Did it work with older versions of the precompiled sea ? Is all the country land flooded ?
