[mkgmap-dev] Copyright & License file reader improvements

Hi Gerd, when the separate files are installed on Windows, Basecamp displays
the license information, whether it is loaded from a file or is the built-in
standard text. Basecamp does not show the license file info when accessed
from a gmapsupp file. However, GMapTool does show the license info from a
gmapsupp file, so the data must be in there. This may be a limitation of
BaseCamp. I am also unable to see anything of the license information on my
GPS device. I tried a commercial map, and that is the same - the license
info can be seen in GMapTool, but not in BaseCamp or on the GPS. Hence I do
not think anything is wrong with the way the map is being built. It does beg
the question what is the use of the license information if you can't see it
in the Garmin applications or GPS devices!

Of course there is a small possibility that both the commercial map
(Ordnance Survey Discoverer 50k) and our maps are being built incorrectly.

sorry, I am unsure what that means. Is the licence not written to
gmapsupp.img ?
Is there a place for a licence in the gmapsupp.img ?

Hi Gerd, I tried that, and BaseCamp does indeed show the license file info
when installed using NSIS.

I compile the map with the --nsis option and use the nsis compiler to create
an "OSM map.exe". Finally I install the map with it.

Hi Gerd, Do you use a single gmapsupp in basecamp or the separate tiles? I
use a gmapsupp file and put it on a memory card (I don't register the map).

I do not specify a licence info or copyright in my options file. So, I see
the default settings. Maybe
that is a hint that something is wrong?

today I noticed that MapSource and Basecamp display the licence together
with the copyright info
when you click on the Copyright button in the "Map Product Manager".

Hi Gerd, I seem to have forgotten how to display the license info in
Basecamp or the on the device (I know how to display the copyright info).
Can you point me in the right direction? BTW I do not have MapSource - is
this still available for download or is it now outdated?

I vaguely remember something about it not displaying after the blank, or
