[mkgmap-dev] hgt2osm questions

I've been able to add dem files to ALL non NT maps by 1) recompiling the imgs as gmapi and move this to programdata etc I use Javawa's Mapconverter which looks for a tdb file and basemap 2) using Gerd's great procedure for BuildDemFile to add the DEM I have not tried NT maps as the DEM is slotted into a .GMP file 3) I use my own routine to recompile the tdb before exporting it to a gps. r Nick On 13/11/2017 12:33, Peter Danninger wrote: > OOPS ... sorry for the bulk of messages, what happened ? > > Am 13.11.2017 um 13:28 schrieb Peter Danninger: >> Hi all, >> >> Maybe a silly question from a user ... a happy user ... >> >> Will it be possible to use this new tool from Frank to >> enrich the OSM-files (*.img) with elevation data (DEM) ??? >> >> I use the OpenMTBmap from Felix with modified .TYP-files, >> for this I use TypWiz5 from Nick. >> >> Or do I have to wait until Felix will hopefully >> add the DEM subfiles ??? >> >> Right now I get my tracks out of Basecamp without >> elevation data :-( >> >> Then I add the elevation data with a WWW-solution, >> selfmade, with the necessary .hgt-files. >> Mainly 1sec from USGS, in the very North from ViewfinderPanoramas, >> some only 3sec resolution. >> For Europe and Eurasia this files sum up to 50GB, >> far too much for my Internet provider. >> So I implemented 2 solutions: >> >> Always online: http://tinyurl.com/odm6av7 >> Southern Bavaria, some of Tyrol, only 4 .hgt files >> >> On a NAS on my desk: http://tinyurl.com/yact8gm6 >> Europe and Eurasia, more then 3000 .hgt files >> >> Some information: http://tinyurl.com/y9byc9k9 >> >> The Javascript, if anybody is interested: http://tinyurl.com/ychhdpxj >> >> Peter >> >> >> >> Am 12.11.2017 um 18:45 schrieb nwillink: >>> @ Frank >>> >>> What a great tool for creating contour lines! >>> >>> 1) I'm having some success with your other great program,osm2hgt , >>> however I >>> fail to merge two or more .hgt files into a single osm . >>> >>> Am I doing something wrong? >>> >>> C:\Users\Owner\Desktop>E:\hgt2osm.exe --HgtPath=E:\Dem\All_UK_HGT_Data\ >>> --Lat=49 >>> --Lon=-3 --Outfile=e:\dev1.osm --Mergefile=e:\devonall2.osm >>> C:\Users\Owner\Desktop>E:\hgt2osm.exe --HgtPath=E:\Dem\All_UK_HGT_Data\ >>> --Lat=49 >>> --Lon=-4 --Outfile=e:\dev2.osm --Mergefile=e:\devonall2.osm >>> >>> devonall2.osm doesn't seem to have merged both files. >>> >>> 2) I'm having to enter longitude data into --Lat and latitude into >>> --Lon . >>> Any reason why? >>> >>> 3) It hangs when there is no data , ie >>> >>> Hgt2Osm, 26.4.2017, FSofT >>> 64 Bit-OS: ja >>> Programmodus 64 Bit: ja >>> MinorDistance: 20 >>> MediumFactor: 5 >>> MajorFactor: 5 >>> HGT-Verzeichnis: E:\Dem\All_UK_HGT_Data\ >>> Mergefile: e:\devonall2.osm >>> OutputOverwrite: False >>> Höhenkorrektur: -0.5 >>> MinVerticePoints: 3 >>> MinBoundingbox: 0.0005 >>> Douglas-Peucker: 0.04 >>> 1.
