[mkgmap-dev] type/subtype of points and cities

Hi Ticker, reg. Mdr12: I am pretty sure this is no longer used. I don't remember the details but I think it cannot work with unicode maps. I guess with "makes no sense" you mean the strange loop with increment of 10240? And sorry, it is not related to --location-autofill option. This is only needed to reach the code where the KdTree is used to locate the nearest city. For me, city search by name also doesn't work, but I do find e.g. x2e13 in "all POI" as well as "shopping". Also very interesting for me is that the search for restaurants works fast on my Oregon, while it doesn't with normal maps. So, I'll play with this, maybe I can find out the trigger. I think you need --location-autofill=nearest to fill MDR12 Gerd ________________________________________ Von: mkgmap-dev <mkgmap-dev-bounces at lists.mkgmap.org.uk> im Auftrag von Ticker Berkin <rwb-mkgmap at jagit.co.uk> Gesendet: Freitag, 8. I can't get find-by-name (ie MDR searches) to work (neither POI nor Cities), but I don't think it ever has done. I did a bit of diagnostics and it generates the same MDR sections as a normal map except it doesn't generate: Mdr6 zips Mdr7 street names Mdr12 index into Mdr11 Mdr20 streets Mdr22 streets by country This is as expected except for the missing MDR12. The logic for the generation of this is in Mdr11:getIndex() and makes no sense, but hacking it a bit to generate more than 1 record made no difference.
