[mkgmap-dev] mkgmap doing excessive writing and converting to disk if used with --gmapi option

The current version is perfect. Avoids all those unnecessary writes and no
need to go crazy on symbolic links anymore for preventing them. Files that
should be overwritten - are overwritten.
